Case study Aerated Lagoons

2 stages for a capacity of 300 p.e. (greenfield plant)

The plant in Germany was set into operation in 1995 for a design capacity of 300 p.e. It was designed in accordance with DWA worksheet A 201 (German standard). It basically consists of an operation building with a screen, two aerated lagoons operated in series and an unaerated sedimentation and polishing pond.

Information

  • In order to treat storm water the first lagoon has an additional storage capacity. 
  • Oxygen transfer, circulation and thorough mixing with FUCHS OXYSTAR Aerators:

    • even distribution of the transferred oxygen
    • oval-shaped basins require low power density and thus little energy
    • to follow the actual oxygen demand the aerators are operated intermittently 
    • easy control of FUCHS Aerators by means of a timer
